We all love a feel good story about a kid doing something awesome for charity, right? Have you ever heard of little Christian McPhilamy? When Christian was just 6 years old he made a decision, one that would leave him being bullied for the next two years.
Christian decided to grow out his lovely blonde hair, not because he wanted long hair, but because he planned on donating his hair so that children with cancer could have wigs. His hair would be turned into affordable if not free wigs to be given to children cancer patients, who have lost their hair due to chemo and radiation treatments.
Most people would admire such a brave and generous young man, but there were children at Christian’s school who teased and bullied him on a daily basis for two years. Christian never once gave in to the pressure of trying to “fit in” and be “normal.” Instead he stood strong and continued his mission. A mission that shows what a kind heart this young man has.
After two and a half years Christian finally cut his hair, he was able to donate four ponytails each measuring 10 inches in length! How fantastic is that, if you look at Christian’s pictures you can see how happy and fulfilled he is for being able to do something good for those children who suffer so much.
The moral of the story, don’t judge others because of their looks because they may be doing something amazing for others and that is a beautiful thing.
