Essential Tips for Proper Hair Care on Vacation

Believe it or not, hair waxes are the most popular styling product today! So much as that it’s safe to say 75 percent or more of the hair styling products on the shelf are a wax. Not just popular with consumers, it’s also the choice to professional stylists and models.

One of the oldest hair products in history, wax is made of…wax! Typically made of wax from bees and is often diluted with an oil or fat to make it more pliable – natural oils from coconuts or olives and the like are also used. They mostly add shine and moisture because waxes on their own would leave a relatively matte or dull finish. Some water based pomades are better classified as a wax, based on the ingredients but for marketing purposes, they are labelled as a pomade. Waxes are similar to pomades in the way they don’t flake and provide work-ability. Some say waxes dry out and flake but that’s only true of cheaper so don’t skimp out.

Waxes are going to be the best smelling of the hair styling products because there’s not much to them. Very little ingredients and what is used, is usually all natural so more attention can be placed on the scent in the manufacturing process – anything from bubble gum to woody earthy smells! Hair wax gives your hair structure, provides texture, enhances volume and adds shine. Non styling benefits include conditioning reduces breakage.

There’s a right way to apply hair wax so here’s a few tips so you don’t automatically get frustrated when you don’t get the desired effect or achieve the look you wanted. The best way to use this product is in its melted state since it can be evenly worked through your hair and it’s much easier than you think. All you need to know is that different waxes work with different hair types so knowing both goes a long way to getting stylish!

Use wax with a great restraint, as in a tiny amount is enough for medium-length hair – too much wax will leave your hair to very greasy and not good looking. Apply the wax to your hair ends only by twirling the hair ends between your fingertips, this will give you a lively look to your hairstyle. Finish up with a blow dry or nothing at all – remember, knowing your hair type and applying the right quantity of hair wax will yield you incredible results.
